A Brief Reflection on the Book It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover

I've lost count of how many times I've read this book. It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover is a story I keep close to my heart, one I return to whenever I need its wisdom.

Now, as I turn its pages again, I find myself eagerly anticipating the film adaptation, hoping it will soon grace the screens in Cambodia.

One lesson from this book lingers with me: "You can choose a partner, but your child cannot choose their father. So choose wisely." These words have guided me as I tread the path of married life. The partner I choose doesn't just shape my own destiny; it could either nurture or unravel the lives of my children.

Abuse, toxicity, and destructive patterns take many forms, and it’s up to us to end them. As the movie trailer poignantly puts it, "We break the pattern or the pattern breaks us."

Love, I've learned, is not just about passion but about the choices we make—the ones that echo far beyond ourselves.

These lessons have shaped who I am and continue to guide the story I’m crafting for myself and my family. I don't know if you're the one who needs to read this, but if you haven't already, I urge you to read this book before stepping into marriage. It might just offer the insight you need, just in case.
